Nora Carpenter
Executive Director
Nora is an Idaho native with a long history of community involvement.

Originally from Caldwell, Idaho, Nora attended and graduated from the University of Idaho with a degree in communication. Nora’s early career included television and radio marketing, production and sales. In 1993 Nora became the CEO of the Better Business Bureau in Southwestern Idaho. She held this position until being recruited to the national Council of Better Business Bureaus in 2007. She served as Senior Vice President for the Council of Better Business Bureaus in Arlington, VA.

In August, 2010 Nora returned to work in Idaho as CEO of Big Brothers Big Sisters serving Southwest Idaho. Nora is a well known as a speaker and trainer. She is an avid outdoor enthusiast who enjoys all the activities which Idaho and the Northwest have to offer.

Melissa Thomsen
COO
Melissa has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Science with an emphasis in Sociology, Psychology and child development from Boise State University. Prior to coming to Big Brothers Big Sisters she worked for the Boise School District for 3 years.

Melissa has experience in child development, as well as curriculum and staff development. She has worked for Big Brothers Big Sisters since August of 2003.
