A September to Remember

9/30/2016

Now that Fall has reached the Treasure Valley (at least in the mornings, the 80 degree afternoons need to end), we would like to look back on this last month with heavy hearts and joy.

Why the heavy heart?  Last month our Development Director, Olivia, went on to pursue other opportunities.  She brought an indomitable spirit and fun attitude to the office and we miss her dearly.  She was also the one that remembered everybody’s birthdays, so now we’ve gone into the habit of just buying treats every week “just in case.”  In all seriousness, best of luck, Olivia, and you will definitely be visiting us soon.

This month also marked the finale of PacificSource’s fundraising for us as their Charity of Choice.  All year PacificSource has been having fun with creative fundraisers.  We have had so much fun getting to know your company!

This month few lucky matches got to go fishing at a secret fishing hole.  Here are some highlights from the day!  Thank you to everyone involved in the awesome and special event.

The AmeriBen Leadership Conference was a blast – This year we held a LipSync contest that was, in a word, epic.  The amazing performances by the Brian/Bryan duo aside, this event is always a highlight for us at Big Brothers Big Sisters.

We are so excited for the rest of 2016!  Bowl For Kids’ Sake is less than two weeks away and we are looking to fund 50 new matches this year.  If you have any questions and would like to get involved, contact Keni at kdurfee@bbbsidaho.org or go to www.bbbsidaho.org/bowl-for-kids-sake.

Last month we hosted our first Teen Panel! We are so grateful to everyone that participated, but we'd like to take a moment to especially thank our sponsors Amaru Confections, Tree City Juice and Smoothie Cafe, The Human Bean Treasure Valley, Big Al's Meridian, Albertsons Market, Blossoms Bath Boutique and a very generous Big Brother for making it all happen.
